US Defence Attache visits MDFCSC

The United States Defence Attache (DA), Lieutenant Colonel James Guglielmi, paid a visit to the Malawi Defence Force Command and Staff College (MDFCSC) on Wednesday 19th August 2026 in a move that highlighted the importance of continued professional engagement and cooperation between the two Defence establishments.
The defence attaché was warmly welcomed by the MDFCSC Commandant Major General Vincent Moyo, who led the official engagement at the college. During the visit, the Commandant briefed the defence attaché on the history and development of MDFCSC, outlining its role in preparing military officers for leadership and command responsibilities.
Following the briefing, the defence attaché toured several departments and facilities at the college. Among the areas visited were the college library and production department, as well as other key departments supporting the institution’s academic and professional activities.
The tour offered the Defence Attaché an opportunity to see firsthand how the college operates and the various resources available to support Professional Military Education.
The engagement concluded with the defence attaché expressing appreciation for the warm reception and the opportunity to learn more about the college with prospects of continued cooperation.
